Far Right
In the current year 2014, the South African far right keeps a low profile both in institutions and at street level.
In the general election on May 7 the FF +, the only party that can be classified as extreme right party got only 165,000 votes (0.90%) which gives an idea of the low voting strength of the policy trend.
The causes can be many: the irreversible trend toward democracy (that has settled over 20 years ago), demoralization following the failure of the terrorist way (Boeremag), and the death of Eugene Terreblanche, the historic leader of the far right or the little support to the utopian project of Orania.
Despite the high crime and systematic attack on white farmers out has not been a radical reaction but rather an increase in emigration to Australia, UK and especially the Netherlands.
